Colonel Glen Bastin Completes 14 Year HOKC Career
|
Glen Bastin can look back after his 14 years at the helm of The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and see the affect on many lives you have touched.
- There is the young woman who was bounced between 37 foster homes as a youngster. Through the Good Works Program, you helped her gain a GED. She is now working at a college.
- He recalls the alcoholic who's been sober for a decade. That man now serves the same agency who helped him get clean.
"The mystique of the title 'Kentucky Colonel' is without description," said Bastin, the retired Executive Director and Senior Ambassador of the HOKC.
Glen, with his wife Cassie at his side, has grown The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels into a powerful force for doing Good Works.
"Once you are involved on the inside of the Kentucky Colonels, even a cynical newsman, as I was, comes away amazed at what this group has accomplished," Bastin said.
Glen, The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, indeed the entire Commonwealth is thankful for all you've done on behalf of those in need!
