Our New Logo Unveiled

Allegany Franciscan Ministries has a new logo! It is a bolder, vibrant and more modern look that continues to reflect our Franciscan roots. The logo's elements hold special meaning to us and we would like to describe the significance to you.

Tau
- The center and focal point of the logo, is the Greek letter "Tau". The Tau is also known as an Old Testament sign of the cross. St. Francis had a strong connection with the Tau and used it in his writings and in his signature. Consequently, many followers of St. Francis have adopted the Tau as their symbol. Like most Franciscan followers, our founding congregation, the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, uses a Tau in their logo. Following in their tradition and because we are also rooted in Franciscan values, we have chosen to adopt the Tau as well.

Shape - The oval/circle shape represents connectedness and inclusion. The "arms" of the Tau reach out beyond the inner oval/circle demonstrating bold pushing of barriers as well as our desire to reach out and serve the community, especially those who have been marginalized. Surrounding the Tau and within the oval, there are three light green spaces. These represent the Holy Trinity, the three regions where Allegany Franciscan Ministries serves, and our parent company, Trinity Health.

Color - The new colors are bold, crisp and energetic. Blue is often associated with health which is a focus our work and both blue and green represent the environment which was very important to St. Francis. The lighter shade of green matches Trinity Health's logo green.

If you currently use our logo on your website to demonstrate our support of your program or our partnership, please update it with our refreshing new logo. Reach out to Kathie Hardy at khardy@afmfl.org; she will provide you with a high resolution file. Future requests to use our logo in print or web should go to Kathie as well.

We're excited to hear what you think about our new logo; email Lise Landry Alives at llandryalives@afmfl.org. Thanks!

Common Good Initiative Updates

Since January, Councils for The Common Good have been formed in each of the three common good communities and are meeting regularly to to review community driven priorities and to develop specific strategies.  In April, members from each Council met in Miami to hear from Purpose Built Communities and learn more about successful community revitalization efforts.  The Council members used this opportunity to get to know one another and learn about each other's communities as well.  Click on the links below to learn more about the role and membership of the Council, recent investments and overall updates on our progress.

Grant Committees Formed

Palm Beach Grants Committee
Allegany Franciscan Ministries has been blessed with dedicated, knowledgeable volunteers who support our mission and vision. We recently transitioned from Regional Commissions, who worked closely with our staff team to recommend all regional grant funding, to three Councils for the Common Good and four Grants Committees. The Grants Committee is an advisory group comprised of individuals who are residents and stakeholders of each region. The committee reviews grant requests and makes fair and informed funding recommendations which are presented to the Allegany Franciscan Ministries board of directors for action. Committee members may also attend site visits and help us improve our funding processes. Grants Committees meet regularly according to our grant funding cycles. The committees are supported by Program Officer Jessica Gonzalez and Director of Grants and Technology Erin Baird.
We are proud to introduce the members of each Grants Committee. Click on each link to learn more about each team of valued volunteers: Palm Beach, Martin & St. Lucie Counties, Miami-Dade and Tampa Bay, as well as our Allegany Community Out Reach (ACOR) Grant Committee.
