Piedmont Kennel Club Dog Appreciation Day
and Meet the Breeds in Charlotte, NC
This is the first educational event sponsored by the SouthEastern Miniature American Shepherd Club. Our members are primarily from NC, SC, GA & FL with a couple generous supporters outside of the area. The members that worked this event are from left to right: Mimi Cullinan, Kathy Batchelor, Lisa Grose and Shirley Shannon.

2013 Goodwill Ambassador Award!
The award has been finished and delivered, thank you Mid America affiliate club for sponsoring this annual award, along with the runner up awards!
Below is the story that earned the first place plaque carved by Jaque McHenry from RunAmok Pyrography.
Entry is Teacup Treasures Selene & Teacup Treasure Lexi . They belong to a special needs family, both the son and daughter are handicapped. The daughter has some type of progressive hearing loss in advanced stages along with some other medical problems and I believe the son has downs syndrome. Here are a couple of stories the daughter shared with me.
Selene became a member of our family 2 years ago we bought her from Kim Gardner cause we wanted a dog that could be a Service Guild Dog while taking Selene to your training class my younger brother Kenny and I were walking a cross the street a truck was coming but both Kenny and I are hard of hearing so we did not hear the truck so thanks to Selene she let us know that a truck was coming and we were not hit. Selene saved Kenny's and my life that day she is a hero. Yes having a service dog has been a God send, that is why we bought Lexi from Kim Gardner as well. Now we have two Service Guild Dogs that are doing such wonderful work each and everyday.
One night after a very long day my family and I were sleeping, during the middle of the night our smoked director went off. No one in my family heard them however, our girls Selene and her little sister Lexi did so they went right to work with barking. Lexi ran into my mom's room to get her up, then she went to get Kenny while Selene came into my room, jumped on my bed and saved my life from getting me out of the house on time. Both of our Service Guild Dogs work 24/7 inside and outside of the home, they are best cause they are always there for us. We thank God everyday cause both girls saved my family that night.
Selene is going to be in Love Paw Video with some other service dogs here and we are just so happy for her cause she has worked so hard. We start taping Feb 2, 2013 by the bay over here Selene and my part are only 2 mins but still let everyone know that service dogs are needed. We hope that this will be one of many videos to do cause the word need to get out more.

The Miniature American Shepherd is eligible to compete immediately in AKC Herding Trials! As soon as you receive your AKC/FSS number you can enter an AKC Herding Trial.
