EUKANUBA IS ALMOST HERE!
Best of wishes to all the Miniature American Shepherds. Several members will be leaving this week to head to Florida and please know that those of us not attending will be there in spirit and really would love several updates during the event!

For the next few weeks we are going to have fun celebrating the Holiday Season! In place of "Sharing My Life" and "That's My Dog" I will post seasonal cards from the members! So be sure and send me those digital Christmas Cards, Hanukkah or what ever seasonal greeting you would like to share with others, and be sure your dog(s) are in the picture! MAS EVENTS COMMITTEE
Looking for a minimum of 4 hardy souls willing to share the joy of working on the EVENTS COMMITTEE. NO PAY, LOTS OF SATISFACTION IN HELPING TO PLAN EVENTS FOR MASCUSA AS WE MOVE FORWARD IN AKC. Meetings will be held via conference call and will try to acomodate everyone's busy schedule. Information on the committee and an application can be downloaded at MASCUA.org. Please send the applications to board@mascusa.org

Good news for foreign members!
You can use the yellow puppy papers for enrollment to AKC without us needing to issue you NAMASCUSA papers!
Here are the steps
1. Fill out the yellow as usual
2. include a three generation pedigree for the puppy
3. include the application to AKC
4. Include the $25.00 fee
If you don't have a 3 generation pedigree you can request one from us for $10.00
The paperwork will be verified by me and sent to AKC in our next batch
Total cost for each puppy is $25, unless you need a pedigree for an additional $10.

Members: If you were notified by the Registrar that your payment was not received with your paperwork to be processed, please send those payments in now along with the registration number for the payment. As the end of the year approaches we need to close out the books for the previous year and request that all members send in any payments that are due. Please include the registration numbers on the dog or litter you are paying for with the payment. Please contact the Registrar if you have any questions.

Painted Meadow Red Hot Vegas
1st Best In Misc show win in Springfield, IL. Vegas won 3 BIMISC that weekend. The Judge in this picture is Mrs Debbie Campbell.

Here is a Win Pictures of Dynasty's Instant Replay at the Brandon Kennel Club show in Mississippi, Ref won the BIS Misc at both shows that weekend.
He also just won BIS Misc at the Montgomery Kennel Club in Alabama, and twice at the Savannah/Beaufort Kennel Club show in Savannah GA.

Letter from MARS!
This may seem late in coming, but a misplaced envelope
prevented me from knowing of the generosity of MASCUSA
members at your recent Nationals until now.
From the bottom of my heart, and the heart of every dog
who will benefit from your donations, I want to thank you
so much for your continued support of MARS' rescue efforts.
I believe that many of you know how hard we work and how
much we care about the ones "left behind" (so to speak). It
is wonderful to know that you - as members of an AKC breed
club - are standing behind us as we rescue, rehabilitate
and rehome Minis in need from all across the country.
Again, thank you so very much, as we all work together to
keep puppies with their families and to save the lives
of those who have no family - yet. Your dollars mean a lot.

Meet The Woods!
Hello MASCUSA,
My wife Brenda and I welcomed our new Miniature American Shepherd from Ashland kennels to our home a few weeks ago. We have given her the name Mandy. She is now 12 weeks old and full of Puppy! We are looking forward to gaining knowledge and fellowship with our new MASCUSA membership. We live in Mobile Al. I am semi-retired and a woodcarver. Brenda is an office Manager. We were blessed with a wonderful Border collie for 4 years who we lost in 2010. We thought for some time before we decided to offer a home to another dog. We knew we wanted another member of the herding Breeds. Not long after we started looking I learned of the Miniature American Shepherd. We felt this dog would fit what we were looking for. We located Ashland Kennels who were very helpful and where we found Mandy. It is our goal to do service/assistant work with veterans and others. We will also do some agility training. I am not sure we would try to compete do to some problems I have with quick movement. But I think the course will be fun for Mandy. We hope Mandy has many happy years with us.

The Miniature American Shepherd is eligible to compete immediately in AKC Herding Trials! As soon as you receive your AKC/FSS number you can enter an AKC Herding Trial.

Litter Announcements
MASCUSA members get one free announcement in the Tuesday Talk for litters with health clearances on both parents (OFA hips, current CERF).
MASCUSA members may purchase additional announcements for litters with health clearances for $20 per package of four announcements.
MASCUSA members may purchase announcements for litters without health clearances for $40 per package of four announcements.
All litter announcements will appear in a section called the "Puppy Pen" at the end of the Tuesday Talk in a standardized format as follows:
one photo, maximum size of 300 pixels wide x 200 pixels high
a maximum of 50 words of description
one web link or email address
