AKC Tidbits and News
Many of you are now ready to register your litters with AKC. You will use the FSS litter form on AKC's website, however if you want to register a whole litter to yourself as owner or if you wish to register the whole litter but put your puppy buyers names on the puppies then you use the forms below.
The forms below are for regular AKC recognized dogs so it is important to write FSS on top of the litter form.
The fee is $10 for FSS breeds, but the form is designed for AKC breeds. That is why they need to write on the top FSS in big letters.
Note: the fee is $20 for fully recognized breeds, so the form will say $20.
Full litter Offspring - all pups to litter owner. The fee is $10 per puppy.

Full Litter Offspring Plus - pups to litter owner and new puppy buyers. The fee is $10 per puppy

Go GO JOE!!!!
Let the Games Begin!
A must see video
The link is: http://youtu.be/wkggiawxwek
Petco had contacted the Markim Pet Resort where our agility trainer rents their large field for her agility classes. They wanted to do a segment on things dogs can do in the summer, (of course we all know agility is a year round sport!). I had never done anything like this before and thought it would just be one person filming. They sent a full on Hollywood production crew. It was a blast - the crew made it a lot of fun for us and the dogs and they were very patient.
We have 4 minis represented: Rebecca with her Sally, my Lego and Bonnie, and one of Bonnie's weave clinic classmates Cody, (the little black tri boy).
The trainers voice in the background is our trainer Gabriella. Joe is really Max and his mom's voice must be a voiceover, because it's not hers.
Enjoy!

Performance, Try Something New
by Susan Chaney
Your knees can't take those course dashes anymore. You're ready for something that's mostly just fun. Your performance dogs are aging and need an activity that's a little less strenuous.
Treibball, urban mushing or K9 Nose Work might be just what you're looking for.
These three sports take place in varied environments: treibball in grassy fields, urban mushing on park trails and K9 Nose Work in training schools, then outdoors around buildings and vehicles. They require very different equipment: fitness balls for treibball, a bike or scooter for mushing, and lots of treats and empty containers for nose work.
None, however, requires you to run, make sudden stops and turns, groom your dog to no end or spend hours upon hours training it to respond to your most subtle commands. Nor will your dog need to jump, climb, submit to exam or run to you from across a ring.
Any activity or sport takes training, but with these three, you'll likely find the training every bit as fun as the event.

New Members Phil and Janet Axtell aren't wasting anytime getting ready for Performance with Mocha, and she herds too!
Mocha is a Melbourne, Florida girl 2 1/2 yrs. old and she is definitely a high energy fur child. We enjoy her so much but I'm beginning to think I'm getting too mature :) to keep up with her or maybe she is keeping us younger, not sure which. Mocha loves all activities, swimming, herding, agility, her ball and lure events.
Actually this was funny since I didn't even know that we had a perfect run or that she also got a ribbon for the 2nd fastest until someone asked me if I had picked up my ribbons yet. Janet Axtell

ATTENTION PHOTOS NEEDED!

The club needs good quality photographs of dogs in various settings, i.e., herding, agility, obedience, family/companionship, etc. These photographs will be used for a variety of things such as use in brochures, other forms of advertising, on the website, etc. If you have some great photographs, please send them in. You will need to submit a Photograph Release Form for any photographs you submit. This form can be found on our website under MASCUSA Forms. The higher the resolution, the better.
