MASCUSA

It's a National's Shout Out!

There are only 40 more days until the National Specialty in Minnesota.

Just a reminder to all of you who are coming and don't have your AKC/FSS number yet.....Get those in to Mindy ASAP and put on the envelope ASAP Nationals. She will get your info out in a jiffy so that you can participate in the whole weeks' worth of events.

A Change in Puppy Sweeps and Non-Regular Classes!

Exciting new from AKC our National Specialty is going to be credited as a B match for our parent club, MASCUSA. However, in order to comply with the AKC B match rules our puppy classes had to be changed. We will now offer in puppy sweeps classes for 3-6, 6-9, 9-12, 12-15, 15-18 months and in the non-regular class we will replace 4-6 with 3-6 months.

I would love to see a record turn out for MV-MAS this year. Please select the link above to review the rules. I know a lot of you and your dogs can qualify so let's make this year the year of the MV-MAS! All it takes is to pass the herding instinct test (or a passing score on an advanced herding level), a passing score on MV-MAS conformation (that's at least a 50 or better out of 100) and a passing score in one of the companion events i.e. agility, obedience or rally.

I'm looking forward to hand out a lot of MV-MAS participant ribbons!

MDR1 Testing

On Friday between 3:00 and 4:30, we will be taking cheek swabs for MDR1 testing. We are able to do this at the Nationals for a $10 per dog discount. The cost is $60.00 per test; we will swab the dog's cheek and send the samples in for testing. It's quick, easy, and a great way to insure the health and safety of your dog! Testing is by pre-order only, as we have to pre-order the swab kits in advance. See the Show Entry page to order test(s). We will get the dog's information the day of testing.

For more information about MDR1 and the testing process, visit Washington State University
