I would like to acknowledge the gift and thank you card that I received in the mail last week from our Board of Directors.
The Aussie Wind Spinner in this picture was the gift that said "Thank You" for the past 11 years as our clubs webmaster.
I appreciate the acknowledgment and want to say that it was a long 11 years with many changes, and many ups and downs, but I was happy to serve our club in such an invaluable position.
I encourage any one of you to volunteer and get involved with our club, it will give you a whole new perspective on how things get done, and what it takes to keep our members in the know!

Heartlands Wallace Icy Overpass CGC, JS-O, RS-N, OTDs, STDd "Wallace"
We had a great Memorial Weekend with ASCA Agility and Herding trials. Wallace and I double Q'd both Regular and Jumpers runs on Friday getting our JS-O and RS-N titles. On Saturday, Sunday and Monday we trialed on sheep and ducks earning our OTDs and 1 Q towards our OTDd. We also took Overall High Score Open for the weekend!!

ATTENTION PHOTOS NEEDED!
The club needs good quality photographs of dogs in various settings, i.e., herding, agility, obedience, family/companionship, etc. These photographs will be used for a variety of things such as use in brochures, other forms of advertising, on the website, etc. If you have some great photographs, please send them in. You will need to submit a Photograph Release Form for any photographs you submit. This form can be found on our website under MASCUSA Forms. The higher the resolution, the better.

AKC RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERSHIP DAY AND MEET THE BREED

We have been invited by AKC to participate and we as a club are looking for volunteers who would like to attend and help represent our dogs. If you are interested please let me know ASAP. We need to send in our application to AKC saying we will participate in the next few weeks.

Kennel Club USA now accepts the Miniature American Shepherd into its Group One which consists of the Herding Breeds. Once a dog has entered in a Kennel Club USA venue as a Miniature American Shepherd it cannot compete as a Miniature Australian Shepherd with the sister group The American Rare Breed Association. MASCUSA Hosted AKC Herding Test and Clinic, supported by Mid America
You are invited to come on out to the AKC Herding Test/Trial on June 9th in Broken Arrow, OK. It will also be a day of learning and enjoying herding dogs. Marie and Alan Koebke from Texas will be on hand for a herding clinic, following the trial. We expect to be done early with the Test/trial and can devout a good portion of the day to the clinic! Even if you are only remotely interested in herding you don't want to miss this opportunity to learn more.
Cost to enter the AKC Instinct is $40. Marie Koebke is the judge for our test.
inic audit fee (without a dog) is $25

I think that the Working Aussie Source is one of the best locations on the net to find herding trials and clinics!
The opening page is for ASCA Trials but be sure and click on the Other Calendars and the Regional Calendars and other Events of Interest!
Keep in mind that AHBA does not require a club to put on a trial -- an individual can host a trial. So if you have a facility nearby that puts on AKC trials, there's no reason they can't also host AHBA events at the same location.

AKC HERDING TRIALS!
The Miniature American Shepherd is eligible to compete immediately in AKC Herding Trials! As soon as you receive your AKC/FSS number you can enter an AKC Herding Trial.

Now that we are eligible to compete in AKC Herding Trials, we want to acknowledge those dogs who are out there earning titles and legs towards titles. |

Litter Announcements
MASCUSA members get one free announcement in the Tuesday Talk for litters with health clearances on both parents (OFA hips, current CERF).
MASCUSA members may purchase additional announcements for litters with health clearances for $20 per package of four announcements.
MASCUSA members may purchase announcements for litters without health clearances for $40 per package of four announcements.
All litter announcements will appear in a section called the "Puppy Pen" at the end of the Tuesday Talk in a standardized format as follows:
one photo, maximum size of 300 pixels wide x 200 pixels high
a maximum of 50 words of description
one web link or email address
