foundation helps weather any type of adversity in life. The same remains true this year since there will always be challenges that we must meet with courage and maturity. Last year, my clients faced many struggles that included health, finances, losses due to death, and other issues that caused them much grief and hardship. The work I do is considered "entertainment" by many, but it is really a job requiring compassion and is akin to a ministry. It is a serious responsibility that I do not take lightly.

It is with this in mind that my work will become more spiritual and continue to be geared towards grief resolution. This does not mean that I will not produce pictures and other materials meant to bring humor to my work. It is one of the ways that I cope with the energy of grief. In addition, I promise not to preach to anyone because that is not my job! My work is to be there for others and do the best I can to communicate with those in spirit.  This is a New Year's resolution that I intend to keep.   

I have some thoughts about the New Year in general that I want to share with you because January is the month for predictions.  The year of 2015 marks a different energy than what we have been experiencing.   This year noticeable change for the better is here for most people. 

The past few years have been difficult in the United States with economic and social changes. However, we are finally getting the "hang" of the new normal that we have talked about so much. It is good news to have the feeling that the worst is over and that things are getting better. This year is different from years past because there is a sense of hope in the air. There is no mistake that the month of January is the month of Hopes and Wishes because the sign of Aquarius begins in this month. The sign of Hopes and Wishes is energizing and creates a sense of optimism.

This year, being proactive and being optimistic appears to be the energy that will be prominent. Last year, the spiritual energy of 2014 set the stage for this year's focus. In numerology, 2015 is an "8", which is about optimism and making gains in life. Of course, there are no guarantees, but it does offer hope that progress can be made and moving toward achieving goals is possible. The New Year is always a time for promise, and this is why we make resolutions that we are determined to keep.

We always want our lives to get better, and we can do this anytime. However, this year, we have a little help. It is my hope that you will have a great New Year and be happy and healthy all year long. If you do suffer loss and have grief in your life, there are people there to help you get through difficultly. I am honored to be a part of your life and want you to know that if you need my services, they are available to you. Have a great 2015!

Astrology and 2015

Astrologically, the big news of the New Year is the shift of the planet Saturn into a new sign.  The reason it is big news is that the energy

of Saturn is known to bring changes to the foundations or the structures in the area of influence of the sign it is occupying.  Astrologers call the period when a planet is moving through a sign a transit.  A Saturn transit is extensively scrutinized by Astrologers when they see it in a person's chart.   

Saturn will be bringing change for the signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces for the next two and a half years. The planet of Saturn is shifting from the sign of Scorpio to the sign of Sagittarius in Western Astrology.  This means that the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius are getting relief from the energy of the great disciplinarian of the Zodiac but the mutable signs will be feeling its effects.   

People in these signs may already be feeling the effects of the planet Saturn. Many new clients are already contacting me about issues in their lives.  The energy of Saturn causes us to look at the structures in our lives and evaluate whether or not they are working for us. These structures include our home life, careers and our health status. If the structures are working for us then they will be strengthened.  If they are not then change may take place.   

Making changes does not have to negative because they often make our lives better. The good news about these signs, called the mutable ones, is that they have the ability to shift and go with the flow. The last group of signs, the fixed signs, had more difficulty in making changes.  The best news about Saturn is that it always gives a reward after the transit is over.  It is like getting beat up and then getting recognized for going through hell!  

The movement of Saturn into the sign of Sagittarius means big societal changes in the areas of religion, philosophy, foreign travel, the way we deal with foreigners and higher education. We will be seeing structural change in organized religions, our values in society, the way we travel, immigration reforms and look for changes in the way that colleges and universities operate.   

The energy of Saturn can be harsh but when it is in the sign of Sagittarius it is not as difficult to handle.  Sagittarius is known to be the sign of optimism and hope.  Many of these changes associated with this sign are already in the "works" but many more will start to be in the news. The changes will be for the better in the long run. I think this is the time for gains from all indications. These gains need to be made prudently but they can be achieved with this energy helping us.  This, of course, is my opinion!

So many times, people become interested in past lives to release phobias or understand traumas that their souls continue to carry. However, there is another, very important side to the study of our past lives. Just as in our current lives, we have had many years of love and joy in previous incarnations. January is the month of hopes and wishes, so I would like to focus on the positive aspects of bringing past-life memories to our conscious minds.

Take a few moments to think about what makes you, you. What do you enjoy? Who do you enjoy? How do you wish to fulfill your soul's purpose?  Is there something you long to accomplish? Meditate on these ideas in a positive way. Just like a New Year's resolution, focusing your energy on the things that fill your heart with joy can give you a boost and re-energize you for the upcoming year.

As with any other type of unfinished business, hopes and dreams that were not completed in former lives may be a driving force for you today.   Perhaps a dream, no matter how big or small, can be realized this time around!
