Happy New Year! It is that time again when we take a deep breath and renew our commitment to make perceived changes in our life. Whether it is to stop smoking, lose weight or start an exercise program we have another chance to become the person we have always wanted to be in January. Improving our physical well-being is always a good cause but many of us do not stick with our noble resolutions passed the first 31 days of the New Year. Our intentions are good but reality often causes us to change our plans. This is why we might want to consider a different approach to reaching our quality of life goals.
This year, while we are filled with determination, we might add one spiritual goal to our list of resolutions. The choice of a spiritual goal to pursue is an individual issue that can range from a simple pause to thank our Creator for the good things we have or to change our life and follow a more spiritual path. Achieving any goal takes some resolve but the benefits of starting out this year with our soul in mind might just help you with your physical and material resolutions.
It is always good to add improving our spiritual life but 2014 has a unique aspect to making a special effort. 2014 is a good year to add this dimension to our plans because the numbers in 2014 add up to the number "seven." The number seven is the number of spirituality and it will be affecting all of us during the next 12 months. Last year's energy was that of the number "6" and we learned about responsibilities. Energy from the number seven allows us to turn inward and create a basis for spiritual growth. When we seek spirituality in our life we build a foundation for good things to happen to us. Our soul's health needs to be a priority these days.
Inner peace from spirituality makes everything better in life. Handling problems and facing challenges are easier when we have a spiritual foundation to fall back upon. Spirituality is our "soul's shield" and it needs to be strengthened because we will always face challenges. The sky rocketing reality of divorce, suicide, stress in general and depression are just some reasons for all of us to start thinking about our soul's health. It is our soul that needs nourishment these days because it is often a forgotten part of us. Our minds and bodies are bombarded with stimulus and distractions but our soul is not. Our soul has the ability to handle all of the challenges in life if it is nourished and is strengthened. It just takes a little time out. A strong soul has clarity within it and has heightened psychic and mediumship abilities.
We become more aware of our surroundings when our soul has peace and clarity. We are not as self-centered. Our minds are not consumed with the clutter of our daily routine or other more pressing issues. Clarity allows us to anticipate and take into consideration more information. Insight and perception are more easily attained when our soul is at peace. Our angels and loved ones in spirit are able to communicate with us more easily because we have fewer distractions around us.
This year can be your "year of spirituality" and it can be a time of great happiness and joy. A strong soul can make good times better and cope with loss and disappointment. We do not have to dwell on problems or issues we encounter because our soul will give us the strength to get through anything. Usually, our New Year's resolutions focus on our physical health and this is very important. However, this year we should not forget our souls. It is important to take good care of our bodies while we have them but our soul is with us forever!
