The Earth Element

In this third article on Chinese Face Reading, we will look at recognizing and understanding the Earth Element.
The Earth people are the natural nurturers, the support people of the 
world. They can be recognized by the mostly square face shape, soft skin that's creamy looking and rather yellowish in color, their full mouths and distinct jawlines. Earth people are soft, no two ways about it. It doesn't matter how much they exercise (and Earth people are not inclined to work out or be very active) they will never have that hard, chiseled body. They also tend to have soft pads on the chin, tip of nose, cheeks and upper eyelids as well as a little pad of plumpness on the tummy and chest. They give the best hugs, too.
The primary emotion is Worry and its complement is Sympathy. The organ is the stomach.
When Earth people realize their primary emotion is worry, they tend to worry about it. While some worry is natural to everyone, those who get on the gerbil wheel of worrying about everything to the point they can't make a decision, that is Earth worry. You'll find that frequently, their nickname among close friends and family is "Worry Wart." They do it so well!
Earth people want to be physically connected to those they love, needing to touch them. It can get to the point of feeling like smother love. Sadly, they are deeply hurt when those they love pull away to get some room to breathe and operate.
There are two Earth types: the Soft Earth whose world revolves around the family and closest friends, and the Hard Earth type that supports and fights for a larger family, be it their city, their tribe, or their nation, like Winston Churchill. Both types are wedded to their bodily comforts and sensual needs, and both types will have soft bodies with a tendency to spread. They are slow to respond and slow moving when in action, but they get the job done once they get in motion.
In crisis situations, the Soft Earth will be concerned about the emotional impact on people, and will try to take care of others. If they have a leader they respect, they will throw their support behind them. If they don't trust the leader, they won't budge. The Hard Earth types will find a ground from which to operate and be the calm center from which everything happens.
Some famous people with a strong Earth element include: Oprah Winfrey, Jimmy Carter, Theodore Roosevelt, Eleanore Roosevelt, Mamie Eisenhower, Aretha Franklin, Jordin Sparks and Kate Winslet.
