STEAM Lab Ribbon Cutting with the Jax Chamber

Students need to wear uniform shirts on Friday (not dress down shirts). There will be press and photographers on campus and we need to all look our very best!

us for the September Gathering on Friday, September 26 at 8:30 AM. The Jax Chamber will be here for the Ribbon Cutting celebrating our new STEAM Lab! There will be light refreshments for adults, networking opportunities and tours. Invite your friends, family and coworkers! Evites were sent this week, make sure to RSVP!

High School Night

Picture Retake Day

Wednesday, Oct. 1 is picture retake day. If your child plans to have their picture retaken, please return their current picture envelope with "retake" written on the outside of the envelope. If you plan to purchase pictures, return your payment by Wednesday, Oct. 15 (unwanted pictures should also be turned in by Oct. 15). Thank you!
Yoga in Ms. Brock's Kindergarten Class

Every week the students take yoga in their classroom.  By practicing yoga poses, children develop confidence and have better concentration.  It's also a great way for them to get a little exercise in their day - Namaste!
Spanish Theater - Don Quijote

The International Committee invites all parents to join them for the bilingual performance of Cervantes great classic.

Thank you to all who attended the adults-only event last Saturday night at the beautiful Kagiliery home.   A great time was had by all!

2014 Monster Bash:  Full Scream Ahead!
Make plans for your whole family to attend Monster Bash on Saturday, October 25.  Please look for order forms to go home next week.
 
Congratulations Diana L.! 
Diana (6th grade) has been chosen as the 2014 Monster Bash "Full Scream Ahead" t-shirt designer.  Her design was selected out of 23 great designs from students in Elementary and Middle School.  Students can wear their Monster Bash every Tuesday in October.  Congrats Diana and thank you for everyone who participated!

Pre-ordered Monster Bash shirts will be distributed October 1.  A limited number of t-shirts remain available for sale for $15.
 
Box Tops Contest!
Remember to turn in all of your Box Tops to your homeroom teacher by this Friday, Sept. 26.  The class with the most box tops per student will win a popcorn party!
Buddy Bears Project

Hendricks is so excited to be part of the Buddy Bears Project! Thousands of children are diagnosed with cancer each year. Buddy Bears is going to help bring some cheer to those children. Please bring in new teddy bears between now and October 15th. Jeannie Blaylock from First Coast News will be on campus Oct. 15th to see our collection and feature our school on the news!

Hendricks faculty and staff are also donating a minimum of $5 to wear jeans to school that day - all proceeds will go to Nemours. 
Voices at the Farmers Market!

On Sunday, September 28th at 2:00 PM our very own Voices of Hendricks will be performing at the St. Vincent's Fall Festival at the Jacksonville Farmers Market (1810 W. Beaver Street). There will be a pumpkin patch, hay rides, games and a lot of vendors (including Mr. and Mrs. Weise's - MacMaddies Repurposed Design)!  Please come out and support the Voices of Hendricks!
