Alice is getting ready for GAME OF THRONES

This week spring finally arrived after a punishing winter-Hallelujah! Spring means Easter, end-of-tax-season, picnics, baseball, gardening and GAME OF THRONES, which premieres its fourth season this Sunday night. You can be sure I'll be watching every episode at least twice (maybe not in full costume). Which brings me to my random contest question: how are you celebrating spring? Email me here. The prizes are ususally autographed books from NC authors. Arthur Powers from Raleigh won last month's contest!

We were lucky to dance in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in fine weather and as promised, I've got pictures of me in my Irish dance costume with my school, Rince Go Halainn. Please Click Here to check out the interview Germ Magazine wrote up about me.

April is National Poetry Month and there are plenty of ways to celebrate this art form which is my life. Writing Tips from Alice
Alice new profile

When attributing dialogue "said" is all that needs to be said.

Avoid trendy speech in dialogue. By the time the story is published, the catchphrase may no longer be trendy, and your work will date itself.

Nothing is as dull or as useless as a dialogue of agreement.
