Hello!

There are several opportunities to take advantage of in this newsletter so take a look.

IL SADD is very proud of the SADD schools that were winners in the Celebrate My Drive contest. If you haven't done so yet, enter the Act Out Loud contest and be sure to list SADD when you register. This is a great way to earn some cash for your chapter.

SADDLines will have a whole new look when it hits your inbox in January, let us know what you think.

Please take some time and reach out to your Regional SADD Consultant, they are there to help you and answer your questions.

Have a wonderful Holiday and enjoy your break.

SADD Traffic Safety Activity Guide

ILSADD is excited to be working on an updated SADD Traffic Safety Activity Guide.

We are asking you to send us any traffic safety activities or ideas to make this a useful activity resource for chapters.

We would like to roll out the guide the beginning of the new year, so please send any of your activities, resources and ideas by December 20th to megan.edmondson@prevention.orgAlso, be sure to include the source as we want to assure that everyone is given the appropriate credit.

When the guide is complete, it will be accessible through the member's only access site on www.ilsadd.org!

December is National Drunk & Drugged Driving (3d) Prevention Month!

December is National Drunk & Drugged Driving Prevention Month!

Drugged Driving incidents have been rising and now about 20% of occuring crashes is tied to drugged driving.

Think about what you can do to promote awareness of this tragedy with your chapter.  If you need a little help, feel free to check out the stop drugged driving website.

We look forward to seeing how you will be promoting this month of prevention awareness!

Attention Operation Teen Safe Driver Schools!

Illinois SADD has partnered with Impact Teen Drivers to bring their program, "What Do You Consider Lethal" to Illinois.

"What Do You Consider Lethal"  is a research based, engaging presentation aimed at changing young people's attitudes and behaviors when it comes to reckless and distracted driving. It's might be the perfect addition to round out your traffic safety programming.

If you'd like to learn more about Impact Teen Drivers and "What Do You Consider Lethal", contact robyn@ilsadd.org.

MLK Day of Service

MLK's Day of Service is on January 20th!

This day of service is in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He once asked the question, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'"

Think about what you and your chapter can do to answer that question. You can start your own service project or find a project that is already being started in your community.

Plan to celebrate MLK Day by a day of service, instead of a day off.  Give back to you community and make an impact on this day!
Celebrate My Drive

Congratulations to the winners of Celebrate my Drive!

ILSADD had two  winners in Illinois!

Mt. Carmel High School won the $100,000  and East Richland High School won the $25,000, How cool is that?!
I hope this encourages you to participate in the contests we promote, your SADD chapter could be the next big winner.
