which will include items such as chalk, bandannas, a banner, press release templates and other materials you can use in your campaign.

SADD has teamed up with The National Road Safety Foundation (NRSF) to hear what you're doing to make a difference in road safety. To participate in the @UrTurncontest, plan a campaign about driving proficiency that includes three elements: school activities, community involvement, and media awareness! Pick a topic or two in driving proficiency that really impacts you, your friends, or your community, and then let your creative flow while you shine your headlights on this issue through your campaign!

Submit your campaign proposal to SADD National, to April Cabera (acabrera@sadd.org) ASAP.

After that, take the campaign for a test drive in your school, and then send in an activity report by Wednesday, February 26, 2014 for a chance to win a great prize!

Grand Prize: $2,500 for your chapter
Second Place: $1,500 for your chapter
Third Place: $500 for your chapter

Featured Member of the Month: Rachel Mencel

Rachel Mencel is from the small town of Colchester, Illinois and is in her senior year of high school. She got involved with SADD when a friend of hers invited her to a SADD Leadership Retreat. After attending the conference, hosted by Randyl and Robyn, she was hooked. She loved the program and wanted to find a way to get more involved. She heard about SAB and decided that that would be a great way to help her community and make a difference. Today she is involved in both her SADD chapter as well as a part of Student Advisory Board

Besides SADD and SAB, she is involved in many extracurriculars including: Varsity Volleyball, FFA, FCA, NHS, Drama Club, Yearbook, Spanish Club, Art Club, Student Council, Class Council President, Scholastic Bowl, Band, Choir, Church Music Committee, AWANA, Youth Group, Club Volleyball. She believes that being involved in her community is crucial in the development of character. Being in SADD is a great way for her to reach out to individuals and get them involved as a preventative measure against drug and alcohol use. She is in SADD and SAB because she wants to make a difference in people's lives by teaching them prevention is better than reaction.

Thank you so much to everybody who has taken the survey, and for those who haven't, we have extended the window to participate to . November 1st at noon. Last call to participate in the Advisor Survey and a chance to win a multi-media presentation for your school.!
