Hello Friends of Parlando,

Please consider a year-ending tax-deductible donation to Parlando before 12/31!  Below, I have included the letter I sent out last week detailing the many things for which we are grateful at Parlando this year.  I have included it again in case you missed it.  However, if you'd like to skip the letter and move right to the donation link, here it is:

During this time of year I try to find quiet moments and reflect on the many things for which I am thankful.  I am personally thankful that my family is once again able to donate $5,000 to Parlando in support of that which we love: music and music education for ALL members of our community.   Please join my family in making a gift that is meaningful to you and your family.  ALL gifts make a difference in our ability to affect the lives of people in our community.

At Parlando we are grateful for the students who come into our studios for instruction, their families who entrust us with the music education of their children, the faculty members who make Parlando the best music school in Colorado, and our community who supports us through charitable giving.

Additionally:

We are thankful that, since inception, we have provided exceptional music education to 3,000 students.  That's 3,000 students who have studied piano, voice, violin, guitar, clarinet, saxophone - and so much more - from some of the best teachers around.  Our faculty is comprised of 50 instructors who are experienced and love teaching - and it shows!  75% of these faculty members have an advanced degree in music (Masters Level or beyond).

We are thankful that, since inception, Parlando has provided more than $350,000 in tuition assistance to nearly 700 students and their families.  That's nearly 700 students who wouldn't have otherwise been able to access music education.

We are thankful to have been able to provide more than 500 days of outreach in our community's schools since 2005.  From supporting ongoing programming to helping with special occasions to providing a music instructor while one school's band teacher was participating in military duties, we stand in support of our community's music classrooms.

We are thankful that we have exciting pilot programs at Foothill Elementary, Casey Middle and Boulder High Schools this year where Parlando instructors are going into classrooms and providing additional music support.

We are thankful for the ongoing programming we have at Boulder Country Day School and New Vista High School.

We are thankful that our early childhood program is reaching more and more kids under the age of 5 both in our studios in the Dairy Center and on-site in our community at places like Boulder Day Nursery.  Students whose early childhood education includes music are more likely to advance in cognitive functioning, better able to process and produce language, more likely to have a positive attitude about school, and are better equipped to take advantage of additional school opportunities as they get older.

We are thankful to be able to offer intergenerational programming.  Our students and faculty members have the opportunity to perform for our community's elder population and senior citizens come to our studios in the Dairy Center for performances and classes.

I am personally thankful for my sister, Julie, who is an adult living with developmental and intellectual disabilities.  Julie often says that, "Music is my favorite thing in the world!"  In honor of Julie and the many others for whom music provides a path to communication, self-expression and joy, we have created Julie's Program: a program that provides music classes for people who, like her, are living with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

And finally, we are thankful for the many community members like YOU who support us through charitable giving.  Please make a gift to Parlando that is meaningful to you and your family.  Because our operating expenses are covered by tuition, 100% of your gift will go directly toward our life-changing programming.

We now accept donations of electronics, cars, transfer of stock and more.

You can donate by mail or by clicking here:  http://parlando.org/support-donate.html
Thank you for joining us by making a contribution today!

Best,
