A reminder that registration for our 2015 Spring Semester is open.  In addition to the classes that were listed in our brochure that was mailed out last month, we have the following additions/changes:

Kinder Flute Class (Beginning at age 3!)
The first few months of a KinderFlute private lessons or group class include building and marking keys on a PVC pipe flute. Students will learn how to hold the instrument properly and how to finger the first octave notes on the instrument.  Simultaneously, students will learn how to breathe properly in order to play a woodwind instrument. They will also learn the basics of tonguing and articulation. In teaching articulation,  games are played including the Suzuki tradition of "rice spitting."  After students are confident in their ability to hold their PVC pipe flute properly while articulating and fingering first octave notes, students begin playing on the real, curved head-joint flutes.  The curved head-joint allows young students with small hands to play the flute with ease and comfort. This head-joint can be used from age 3 until age 9 or 10 depending on how fast a child's hands and arms grow. 

Early songs will include Mary Had a Little Lamb, Twinkle Little Star, and other traditional children's songs.

A Cappella Class Changes/Update

Our A Cappella class is being moved to Thursday evenings, 6-7:30pm, beginning Thursday, February 19th and going through Thursday, May 14th, 2015 (excluding spring break, 3/26).  We hope that this will give more people the opportunity to participate!
