In addition to the valuable weekly instruction we provide our students, it is also good, on occasion, to bring in guest artists and "master" teachers. Experiences with these professionals can provide new insights for our students and faculty. And, sometimes, it's just good to hear the same idea from someone else, or said in a different way!
This Tuesday, March 11th, we are excited to welcome back Ann Evans. Ms. Evans has had an incredibly successful career working with students of all ages and abilities - from pre-college all the way to Broadway. Ms. Evans will work with some of our voice students in private lessons and then, at 6pm, will give a presentation and masterclass in our Large Rehearsal Room.
We would love it if you would come and see a truly gifted teacher at work with some of our students this Tuesday (6pm in our Large Rehearsal Room). If you are interested, please contact me directly to reserve a seat. It's free of charge and should be a lot of fun.
Here is some more information about the masterclass as well as Ms. Evans:
Sleuthing the Song Style
To belt or not to belt, that is the question - and at least one of the questions we will examine and explore practically in this masterclass. How do you know what singing style makes sense for a particular song? And how do you meld that style with what works in your voice? Join us and gain some hands on knowledge of how to make it all work together: style, text and your unique sound!
