Hello Friends of Parlando,   

 

After much thought and deliberation, we have decided to change Parlando's 2014 staged musical production.  Instead of doing "OKLAHOMA!" we will be doing "Seussical."  This change was made for the following reasons:

 

• We believe that the cast of characters represented in Seussical is an excellent (and better) match for the demographics of our talented and dedicated students; and
• We believe that the content and subject matter of Seussical are better suited for our students and more closely aligned with our mission.

**The show will still be open to students in grades 3-12.  ALL of the rehearsal and production dates WILL REMAIN THE SAME with the exception of the first rehearsal starting on Thursday, January 30th instead of Thursday, January 23rd.

Because of the change, we want to make sure that everyone has the appropriate amount of time to prepare for their auditions.  Therefore, we are moving the dates of our auditions to January 25th and 26th. 

AUDITIONS
Auditions will be scheduled on Saturday, January 25th between 10am and 4pm.  If you have already signed up for an audition, we will keep you on our list and assign you a time after the first of the year.  If you would like to be removed from this list for any reason, please let me know.  And, if you have not yet signed up for an audition and would like to, please email me personally with the following information:

• Name of Student
• Age of Student as of 1/25/2014
• Parent/Guardian Names
• Contact Email(s)
• Contact Phone Number(s)

For auditions, students should prepare a song - or a cut of a song - 1-3 minutes in length.  An accompanist will be provided at the audition but students MUST BRING THEIR OWN MUSIC for the accompanist.  There will be no monologues or dancing in the Saturday auditions.

CALLBACKS
Callbacks will be scheduled on Sunday, January 26th beginning at noon.  Students should wear something in which they can "move" as there will be a dance portion of the callback.

CAST LIST
The cast list will be posted by Tuesday, January 28th in anticipation of the first rehearsal on Thursday, January 30th.

PRODUCTION TEAM
This show will still be directed by Gene Roberts with music direction by Toby Tenenbaum.

SCHEDULE
Rehearsals: Thursdays, 6-8pm, 1/30-5/29 (no rehearsal on 3/27).  Additional weekend rehearsals will be added in April and/or May, depending on necessity.
All Day Rehearsals: Saturday 5/31, Sunday 6/1
Dress/Tech Rehearsals: Sunday 6/1, Monday 6/2 and Tuesday 6/3
Performances: June 4-8 2013 in the Dairy Center's East Theatre
Grades: 3-12 (including both Parlando and non-Parlando students)

NOTE: There will once again be six performances of our musical; tickets will go on sale in May 2014.
