Hello Friends of Parlando,
The process of learning to play an instrument is long, requires great effort and can last a life time. Inherent in our mission and philosophy is the emphasis on, and celebration of, process. As the saying goes, the journey is more important than the destination.
However, it is also good to enjoy the occasional stop along the way and celebrate one's accomplishments. And so, as we continue to emphasize and celebrate the process of our students learning how to play their instruments, we would like to recognize Grace Harper, Anthony Tooley, Hannah Williams and Andy Wu for being selected to perform in the annual Kids for Bach festival this past weekend. The competition to be accepted into this performance is very high. We are proud of these four individuals who, through their diligence and hard work, have been recognized for their outstanding accomplishments.
On a similar note, congratulations to Parlando Voice Faculty members, Erik Angerhofer and Ryan Parker who are both performing in Loveland Opera Theater's production of Puccini's La Boheme this weekend (2/15-2/18) and next weekend (2/22-2/24). Performances will be in the intimate and historic setting of the Rialto Theater in Loveland. The Rialto Theater is perfect for audiences to get to know the cast of Bohemians as they live life to the fullest on a shoestring budget! Erik and Ryan each have leading roles (Marcello the painter and Schaunard the music teacher, respectively) in the Friday and Sunday performances. Ryan is also performing in the Saturday matinees that have been shortened and narrated to help introduce children and first time opera goers to this complex art form. Tickets are available now at the Rialto Theater's box office.
To our wonderful students and faculty: Brava! Bravo!
Best,
Travis V. LaBerge
