Hello Friends of Parlando,   

 

As our Fall 2012 Semester draws to a close, we would like to let you know about some end-of-semester details!

Our End-of-Term Recitals are this weekend at Boulder Piano Gallery. We are looking forward to hearing many of our students perform and celebrate their accomplishments.  The Sunday (12/9) 4:30 recital will feature winners of our annual "Merit Scholarship" program - please feel free to attend!

Our makeup week will be held during the week of 12/17.  Please confirm with your instructor whether you will be taking a lesson this week or not.  If you are not owed a makeup but would like to take an additional lesson, please contact me directly to arrange payment.

Carol Codrescu, one of our flute instructors, is offering a special "Holiday Flute Choir" rehearsal and performance for adult flute players.  The rehearsal will take place on Monday 12/17 between 7 and 8:30 pm in Parlando's Large Rehearsal Room.  Participants will then perform for some area retirement communities as well as patients at Avista Medical Center on Saturday 12/22.  The cost is only $50.  Please contact Carol or me for more information.

Congratulations to Parlando Voice Student, Tricia Moreland.  Tricia is playing the role of Susan Waverly in White Christmas at the Buell Theatre this holiday season. She was originally cast as the understudy, but she is now double-cast in the role, so she will be in half the shows - a total of 18 performances!  If you are interested in going, you can purchase tickets online at the Denver Center website http://www.denvercenter.org/buy-tickets/shows/white-christmas/about.aspx.

Congratulations as well to Eden Ainscough who was selected for the Jefferson County Public Schools Elementary All-County Honor Band.  Eden is one of only a few 5th graders selected to be a part of the mostly 6th grade group. Way to go, Eden!
