Nun Justice Project

 Support the Sisters!

Update from the Nun Justice Project

Dear Friends of Nun Justice!

First, thanks so much for the support you have shown for U.S. sisters ever since mid-April, when the Vatican issued a mandate against the Leadership Conference of Women Religious. An historic number of signatures, letters, vigils, prayers, donations and other actions have reverberated around the country.

You, and thousands more like you, took action because you knew that this decree was unjust to religious women and detrimental to the health of the U.S. Church.

We have prepared  a timeline of the issue and what you have accomplished here.

Your support meant everything to the sisters and we have reason to believe Rome took notice.

Now we must stay vigilant. Our Nun Justice Project coalition is monitoring the situation closely and will keep you informed about ways to support the sisters as the process unfolds.

If you have not already, now would be a good time to write to Archbishop Vigano, the Papal Nuncio. You can find sample letter and addresses here.

And do continue your prayerful support, as the LCWR seeks a meaningful dialogue with Vatican representatives

Meanwhile, be sure to share the resources on the Nun Justice website, including the timeline, with all concerned Catholics.

With gratitude and hope,

Nun Justice Project coalition members
