Daily Words From Dad

"Good morning! I want to talk to you about the importance of praying and trusting God's answers to those prayers. Life and all it's unfoldings have a sure way to bring the strongest of men to his knees crying out to God His Creator, in earnest prayer for His help. We are pressed continually on all sides with challenges throughout our lives and these should be sought out carefully through prayer for their proper course of resolve. In fact, heavy is every heart at different intervals of life where a person searches to find relief from their present difficulty. So, prayer of faith people becomes the spiritual apparatus used to seek God in the affairs of life, good and bad. And the Word of God promises that He always hears us, because He loves us.

However, many times our prayers don't produce the outcome of what we deemed would be the best answer, and thus men think often that God has not heard them nor does He care. That is not the truth at all. That conclusion is based only on what that man can see, not what he can't see. Many times we ask in prayer, and don't receive because we have asked based on our desired terms and conditions. Therefore, we have asked amiss, not according to His will. Other times our level of wisdom is so shallow that had God answered our prayers the way we wanted them, the results would have been devastating to our lives. Prayer then, becomes your permanent Smart phone with a direct number to speed dial God, and the signal never grows weak or is it ever out of range, nor has there been any calls ever dropped. He has only been hung up on, and that happens a lot as people grow angry at Him because He did not answer in the way they wanted Him to. Consider the story below and get understanding. I love you and I am praying for you." ~Dad~

After the Mutiny, some wounded soldiers were brought home from India in a vessel that was found to have water rising in her hold before the voyage was half finished; and night and day the pumps had to be kept working. The noise of the machinery most sadly inconvenienced the sick men on board; and many times they begged the chief officer to stop the pumps, so that they could rest their shattered nerves. This, of course, he dared not do; but being a God-fearing man, he prayed most earnestly that God would send a stiff gale to hasten them on their way. But only calm weather accompanied them: the calmest weather ever experienced on that voyage by any of the crew. When at last the sad journey was over, and the ship was safe in dock, she was examined for the cause of the leak. When it was found that a bad hole had been made in her side below the water line, which was only covered by a sheet of copper held by two flimsy rails. Only the calm weather had saved her. The "stiff gale" prayed for would have certainly sent her to the bottom of the sea!
