"Good morning! It's a wonderful blessing to have friends in your life. The person who has a friend is considered to be very rich; but the person who has a close friend that sticks closer than a brother, there can be no price to compare. One of the many blessings of a good friend is they can always be counted on no matter the situation. It's been said, everyone hears what you say, but Friends listen to what you say, and better still, is that Best friends listen to what you don't say.
There is an old wise proverb, make friends before you need them. Too many relationships are strained before they are ever developed, simply because one person expects something right from the very beginning. In the words of Sylvia Bremer, The finest kind of friendship is between people who expect a great deal of each other, but never ask for it. Therefore, a great friend in life is hard to find, and once they are found they are difficult to ever leave, and always impossible to forget.
One of the most destructive things you can do to a relationship is to hold things against your friends without any resolve. Even if you discover that they did do something wrong, forgiveness deepens the relationship, whereas, constantly pointing the wrong out to them will separate the best of friends. There are also false friends who are like having our shadow following us all around, it always keeps very close to us while we are walking in the sunshine, but the moment we are forced to walk into the darkness of life's troubles, it is here that they leave us at the drop of a hat.
Invest in your friendships and show yourself to be faithful through thick and thin on their behalf, and you will never be alone should life ever spit at you with disdain, because they will be there to support you through it all. That's what real friends do! When you have a person in your life who shows up not just in the parties of life, but more so when you are in need of help when the party has ended and everyone else has left, you have discovered your truest friend. As the Bible declares, if you want friends, BE ONE! If you are one, you will always be surrounded with one." ~Dad~
