Daily Words From Dad

"Good morning! I have something I want to share with you that this culture has fallen prey to. What I mean is there is a great deal of people trying to live way beyond what they can afford. The reason so many do this is because they want to dress out in an IMAGE they perceive to be admired and desired by others. Thus their aspirations are to live life in order to impress.

Look around and you will see it everywhere. For example: a brand new Mercedes Benz will be parked in the driveway of an old run down shack. In fact, I have looked out of my office window many times during the week at all sorts of high dollar vehicles being parked in my church parking lot as these folks walk over to receive their government assistance checks each month.

Unfortunately, the accumulation of "THINGS" don't really make a person genuinely happy; in fact, this is equivalent to looking at a mirage in the desert only to realize it wasn't all that you thought it was once you get close to it. I have witnessed people throw everything away in life in pursuance of what they deem as a glamorous life; and Hollywood isn't helping as it portrays these false impressions upon the minds of people of all ages.

Living large when you don't have the means at the present is a sure way to get into all kinds of bad things in order to assist you in getting them as quickly as possible. Only problem with this, is every decision carries with it a great deal of consequences that you can't out run. You can see these IMAGES on display in every venue around the city as the trend-setters constantly tempt people on how they should dress, how they should look, or what is hip and what is not. Don't be fooled by this materialistic lure to impress people. It's not what it seems!" ~Dad~
