Daily Words From Dad

"Good morning! The Bible tells us to, Rejoice! And again I say rejoice! You have many reasons to do this, because God loves you and cares about you. Therefore, never take anything for granted. It's an easier thing to do than most realize when we grow complacent and familiar with those things that are always near us and around us. Forgetting these blessings in our lives is a tragedy that has been repeated over and over again by so many.

I have come to realize that my personal blemishes, shortcomings and even failures have proved all the more of God's mercy and His goodness to me than all of my strengths added together; whereas if I had been perfect like the angels in heave, I might have never been able to perceive what it is to be loved unconditionally though I am undeserving because of my many failures before a just and righteous Creator. This is not to glorify the fallen man, oh no! but rather to honor the One who loves me without a reason to do so. But He does, and I bow in reverent awe of such mercy and unfathomable love extended to me, who was once a wayward son.

Our fallen nature allows us to see God's mercies in that He chooses us despite our wretchedness which the apostle Paul noted of himself needing to be delivered from. Being in a perfect state would make it easy to overlook Gods goodness and thus take Him for granted through our perfections. Perfection without a flaw is always on cue because it is designed to be so. But when that perfection falls short, and it always does outside of God, it is here that it notices it's greatest need of its Creator. The elder brother of the prodigal son illustrates this perfectly, he had everything around him, but couldn't see it until he saw it given by his Father to his undeserving brother. I suppose this gives reason for the perfect angels in heaven to desire to look into this matter of a perfect God being mindful of man."~Dad~

You never saw him, yet you love him. You still don’t see him, yet you trust him—with laughter and singing. Because you kept on believing, you’ll get what you’re looking forward to: total salvation. The prophets who told us this was coming asked a lot of questions about this gift of life God was preparing. The Messiah’s Spirit let them in on some of it—that the Messiah would experience suffering, followed by glory. They clamored to know who and when. All they were told was that they were serving you, you who by orders from heaven have now heard for yourselves—through the Holy Spirit—the Message of those prophecies fulfilled. Do you realize how fortunate you are? Angels would have given anything to be in on this! (1 Peter 1:8-12 MSG)
