"Good morning! Are you ready to get started? We have something to build. Our lives! Just like anything in life, there has to be a sound foundation, otherwise what you build will be faulty and will present major problems down the road. You can't live in a house that has a bad foundation, because it's eventual stresses will crack the exterior walls and result in an unsafe environment structurally.
Foundations are the most crucial construction stage of anything being built in life. If it is not sound, the rest of the construction will fail to pass the safety requirements for habitation. It's pointless to build a fancy exterior and fill it with all kinds of expensive trinkets if the foundation is faulty. The end result will only take away the treasures placed upon it as it crumbles down upon all of it.
Foundations are the key to success, but rarely do people see their importance enough to invest in the quality material that otherwise can't at first be seen. I think that's why they skimp here, because it can't be seen and this doesn't 't appeal to those who like to show off. Everyone would rather build the exterior part of their life with luxury and the best things that life has to offer.
The problem with this is not those pleasant things of life that can be had if one is willing to work for them properly, but rather it's the the faulty foundation that they refused to spend time building correctly so they could enjoy long-term what they acquire in their life. For example: Marriages crumble for lack of building on a sound foundation from God's Word, just as many relationships often end up here as well because of a lack of wisdom.
Jobs collapse because of a faulty foundation in a persons character. People become addicted to destructive habits because their life was built on a faulty foundation. Families self-destruct due to an unsound foundation made from selfishness. NOTE: Nothing will ever last very long that is not built on the foundation of God's Word.
Look around you and everywhere you see chaos, destruction, hate, greed, etc., and you will see that God 's Word was missing. Nothing is sound enough to build a life on but God's Wisdom, and that is found in His Word. Avoid this, and eventually you will come to the reality of this. Foundations are the single most important part for building a sound life that will hold no regrets when it comes face to face with the storms of life." ~Dad~
