"Good morning! There are many things to worry about in life, but worrying has never solved any of the things that we may worry over. The thing that worrying does do, is that it makes us physically and mentally weak.
In fact, worrying over an extended period of time becomes a stress that breaks down our health where disease can take over and often does to those who do this. God's Word tells us to cast our cares on Him because He loves us. He also tells us that He will supply all of our needs.
If you believe that He is really God, then there is no need to doubt His promises, right? If believing in God to meet your needs is something hard for you, then I know without a doubt that you have not been spending time in His Word. Faith comes only by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
The absence of faith to believe God will help us when our circumstances are difficult is a sign that we have neglected His Word. Whatever we dwell on regularly in life is exactly where our believing will take us. If worrying is the prominent thing you do, then your trust in God is not what you say it is.
The only fix for this destructive pattern of worrying, is reading God's Word so that you might get rid of the doubt in your thoughts that tells you that He is not trustworthy. Knowledge of someone, even if it is God, does not form the relationship with any real significance. It's only when you write it on your heart which is where our belief system abides, can you really believe it.
This is the very difference from those who worry and yet can quote some of the Bible, from those who BELIEVE because of what they know from God's Word. The first, has it only in their head, while the latter has it in their heart. The results of this is the difference from those who worry and those who are at peace.
Don't neglect to take your daily Gos-pill, which of course is the reading of God's Word. Do this, and you will chase away those tendencies to worry over the issues of life whether big or small. This will undeniably be very important to your long-term health and well-being." ~Dad~ |
