"Good morning! Have you ever given the thought to why we really change our clothes each day? You do change your clothing each day don't you? The first response is probably because they get dirty. Another answer is the thing you were wearing had something spilled all over it or possibly it was torn. These are all good reasons to change your outer garments. Maybe you put on mismatched pieces and had to go back and change into something that matched. Sometimes we discover what we have put on may not be appropriate attire. As you can see we have named a few reasons why we change our clothing each day.
This now brings us to today's devotional that I wish to share with you. Did you know as a believer we need to be mindful to what we are wearing also? That's right, there are certain spiritual clothes that must be worn by a believer in Christ and when the outfit we are displaying does not smell right, you need to go change, it's obvious your clothing is dirty. Sometimes it gets torn and needs to be taken off and given the Master Tailor so He can mend it. There other times and lets face it, we are just wearing something very inappropriate for who we are to be representing.
Our earth suit that covers our spirit man has a way by choice to be worn dirty, torn, stained, and inappropriate. When we refuse to daily change into the proper garment should we discover something is wrong with what we have on, we become an embarrassment to ourselves and even more so in the eyes of those who are seeing the contradiction of our God talk and our choice of which garment to wear for the day.
In fact, if you are wearing a bad stinky ole outfit today that is inappropriate and not even the right size, our adversary has a right to attract and act through that wrong attire. That's his only right to dress up in this world and do his ugly deeds; when we wear one of his outfits that belongs to him then he has access to our life and to others around us. This morning, check out what you are putting on, it's going to make all the difference in how your day turns out." ~Dad~ |
