"Good morning! I hope you had a good nights rest, this is always very important for having the stamina for keeping up with your God supplying day. Yesterday I was in a Barnes & Noble Bookstore and came across a book that caught my eye.
It was titled "The Zombie Survival Kit." It's not that I'm interested in such outlandish subject matter, but it was because the title reminded me of just how easily we get infected with a Zombie's virus through those things that communicate to us whether its through our hearing or what we are seeing.
The Hollywood depiction of a Zombie is a murderous , flesh eating mutating creature who goes around terrifying and killing anything with life in it. They drag one leg through life as they walk aimlessly growling at anything that is wholesome. I draw our devotion out of this illustration and hopefully I can present something that has spiritual value for our lives from all of this. Note, that I said hopefully!
I have met more people than I would like to admit who after becoming a Christian remained infected by this Zombie virus. You can always tell this because of their strong appetite of fleshly cravings. I admit we all can possibly exhibit from time to time withdrawals from when we were fully infected with the Zombie virus.
However, this string of disease can't survive long in the believer who meditates in God's Word and follows what that Word teaches. The Bible teaches that every thing bears after its own kind. Therefore, if a believer spends more time practicing a Zombie's lifestyle rather than a Christians, then the virus of a Zombie will quickly mutate throughout that person's life.
Too much exposure around a Zombie can and will give greater probability to contracting this horrific and deadly virus. Whereas, no one can avoid the Zombie's who are all around us speaking and doing fleshly deeds; we can survive their infectious disease by guarding our own hearts above all else. How you might ask?
This is accomplished through reading God's Word, praying, and continual fellowship with other believers in Christ. The only hope for a Zombie is through a blood transfusion of the divine One. However, for this to happen successfully, the Zombie will need a strong and mature believer in Christ who talks truer and demonstrates with greater power for them to be convinced of their need for this divine blood transfusion. I'm glad you are a Zombie slayer wielding the love of God. There is much work to do...go free a Zombie today from their lethargic mutating disease of living for the flesh and help them step into the realm of God's liberating Spirit." ~Dad~
