"Good morning! Did you know that sometimes you have to prophesy out of your spirit to your new day with your desired predictions for its favorable outcome? This is because some days hold resistances that can't be ignored, but must be dealt with forcefully, and there are other times caution will be required in order to navigate through the day successfully due to the setups by the enemy who seeks to destroy you through your mistake to listen to God's instruction. I want to talk about the word caution, because there will be many times you will need to apply it in life.
There are times when caution is an enemy to getting done what God has already spoke to you to do. To be cautious at these times is to eventually think too much on the details of what faith says you can do and should do, and thereby, that too much thinking will make the thing God said was possible become impossible. Its much like the Persian Proverb says: If one has to jump a stream and knows how wide it is, he will not jump. If he does not know how wide it is, he will jump, and six times out of ten he will make it. So, we can see that sometimes caution is your enemy, where other times it is your friend.
Then there are times when you need to use caution. Just as the old Swedish proverb tells us: Don't throw away the old bucket until you know whether the new one holds water. Caution has its uses in certain places of life, but don't always live life on a cautious level, otherwise you will never do what others deem as impossible when God said for you it was possible. We need to remember that caution does not necessarily mean that a person is cowardly. Just as carelessness is not courage. Edward M. Forster gives us an excellent bit of advice: Those who prepared for all the emergencies of life beforehand may equip themselves at the expense of joy. In other words, being too cautious in everything in life is to take away the joy of just living it.
They say caution is the parent of safety. Therefore, I would assume fear is the parent of procrastination. To procrastinate is to consider all twenty-seven alternatives, and decide that running away would be the best thing to do. However, when God has authored something big in our spirit to do it is here that your faith must leap without consideration to the things that are resisting its outcome. But again, I would also tell you that being a fool that would dare to dance upon the volcano is a very stupid thing to do with your life. God never dares us to do foolish things that have no purpose of good in them. Life is not a thrill seekers game even though life is a thrill to live...a life led by God has a definitive purpose that can do the impossible, but never is doing the impossible about just experiencing some thrilling and emotional feat.
Robert Frost once said, never take down a fence before you learn why it was put up in the first place. There is too much reckless living without seeking the counsel of God. Just as there is too much procrastination when we have heard in our spirit what needs to be done. When I'm handling something very hot I use caution to lessen the probability of being burned. This is because I know what I'm working with because of my knowledgeable understanding to its dangers. When I'm handling the unknowns of life however, I need to go seek God who is knowledgeable to what it all involves.
When He reveals to me the direction I must walk, then He will illuminate my path with His Words and eminent danger has no halting effect to my going. But if I refuse His counsel and use my own navigating in life without His wisdom, I may very well foolishly plunge into harms way. Caution in some things in life is necessary, but once God gives a green light don't hesitate one moment to consider the pros and cons...to do this is to never go forward and experience the victory that was meant for your life." ~Dad~ |
