"Good morning! How are you feeling today? Or is it more correctly said, how are you thinking? We generally build our life throughout the day on how we feel, and yet this will surely produce major problems for us when we do this. Why you ask? Well, let me ask you a question, which comes first, feeling or thought? Most will answer correctly by saying its our thoughts. And they would be right, however, we are more aware of our feelings than our thoughts which is why we often build from our feelings even though we may intellectually answer my question correctly.
This will work favorably for you as long as your feelings are on positive things. But you know life throws so many curves at us that are not always predictable, and these will suddenly change our feelings as we give thought to whatever the frustration may be. It is here that we will begin to build our thoughts from that negative emotion being experienced and strengthen it more and more with each concentrated thought being created by how we are presently feeling.
When this is our mental exercise of engaging with problems in life, our emotions of despair and depression will begin to shape our outlook on life. Through this arranging of more thoughts birthed out of negative feelings produced from some sudden and difficult situation we become critical, negative, bitter, etc. We need to learn happiness, contentment, joy, peace, and such like preferred emotions come from utilizing our thoughts from a positive Source of truth (God's Word) at all intervals of life as it unfolds.
When we do this we will be in charge of how we feel no matter the circumstance. This is what the apostle Paul meant when he said, I have learned to be content whether I have little or a lot. Right thinking in any situation good or bad will guarantee a sound mind and a joyful heart that will keep producing feelings that will excel you into a bountiful and peaceful life. So, let me ask you again, how are you feeling? If its not good, check your thinking, that's where the problem abides." ~Dad~ |
