Daily Words From Dad

"Good morning! What a beautiful day to be alive and filled with God's Spirit. We are always on His mind in every detail of our going and coming within each day. Therefore, I hope you will take the time to sit at His feet in your quiet time and hear His wise instruction for the day. It's imperative that you do this because of the magnitude of what's in front of you. A pilot never leaves the ground without the proper coordinates to his next destination, to do this would be detrimental to himself and his passengers. Thus, we need daily coordinates for living successfully as God intends for us to live. I hope you will take this serious and not just leap off into your day unaware and unknowing to where you will end up.

Lou Erickson wrote, life is like a taxi. The meter just keeps a-ticking whether you are getting somewhere or just standing still. My personal observation has seen so many place the emphasis upon living long instead of living well. What good is it to live long, but to rarely experience a well lived life filled with purpose and meaning? Someone once said, if we make our goal to live a life of compassion and unconditional love, then the world will indeed become a garden where all kinds of good things can bloom and grow. However, to live in such a way that all the focus is upon yourself, the world will offer little back to you for the impotence of your sowing into it. You can't have a garden filled with goodly things without planting the seeds to which will fill it with all of its many wonderful and satisfying fruits.

I will dare repeat the sobering words, that to LIVE is the rarest thing in the world, and most people just exist, and that is all. I will challenge you with this, learn from your yesterdays, then go and live for today with the wisdom that you have added to your life, but also I would add, encourage yourself with hope for tomorrow. God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. When you are truly living with a sense of purpose, you will not be afraid of dying, but you will give thought to what you might miss if you were to bail out too early in life. Remember you only live once, but if you work on it in the right way, once will be enough.

I will close with some wise words from Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe wrote, there are nine requisites for contented living: HEALTH enough to make work a pleasure; WEALTH enough to support your needs; STRENGTH enough to battle with difficulties and forsake them; GRACE enough to confess your sins and overcome them; PATIENCE enough to toil until some good is accomplished; CHARITY enough to see some good in your neighbor; LOVE enough to move you to be useful and helpful to others; FAITH enough to make real the things of God; HOPE enough to remove all anxious fears concerning the future. I hope this cultivates within you the aspirations of living life boldly and with divine purpose." ~Dad~
