Daily Words From Dad

"Good morning! I woke up today and communed with the Lord and my heart and was reminded of the old rhyme, Mirror, mirror on the wall whose the fairest of them all? I was somewhat intrigued at how something spiritual was going to arise out of this  reflection from my heart. It was here that I presumed to observe closely the images cast through my thoughts.

Then as I started writing what He was showing me, I started noticing I was producing words such as reflection, observe, and images. All of these of course, being expressions of what happens when you look into a mirror. Rarely does one realize that their words and their actions is equivalent to a mirror that people can see what is being reflected from your heart.

Outward demonstrations give others a glimpse into your heart. Whereas, you may have this image you see as you look at yourself in the mirror of going to church, knowing the Bible, saying you love God, etc., but your words and your actions if they are contrary, tell everyone else a different story that something is broken within. One thing I have learned is that your heart will divulge the condition of itself despite what you have to say about it.

There is such a spirit of Narcism upon many believers today that is blindly polluting their heart. What I mean by this is too many people live with things that hurt others, but they love themselves so much that they don't care because to them it's not a reoccurring problem that is out of control. I believe this is what the Bible is pointing out in the book of James when it says a man looks into a mirror forgetting what manner of man he is.

When you love yourself so much that you are reflecting so much more wrong from your life and can only offer ways to justify your debilitating actions, you have lost sight of the person you are attempting to tell people you are. If your heart is developing a spirit of Narcism, it will eventually tell one too many lies and reflect the person you have now selfishly become. I hope this is not the development of your heart. If it is, then let these words speak to you deeply enough to want to change, and do it quickly!

If you are hurting others and excusing this behavior just because you're a Christian, then don't be surprised if the next time you look into the spiritual mirror and say, 'Mirror, mirror on the wall whose the fairest of them all?' ...that you don't hear the words retorting back to you, A fool says to himself that all is good within, when clearly your actions and your words reveal that the fairest one that you admired...is really not there!' Therefore, guard your heart and don't be deceived, the issues of life are a direct reflection of the heart." ~Dad~
