"Good morning! I'm so glad I get to have this time with you each day. When you excel in life I am filled with indescribable joy as hear of your successes and your accomplishments. I hope my daily words serve as some value in helping you travel through this life. Let us now begin with our advice for your personal growth. Today a great deal of people will have awaken and their plan will consist of attempting to keep their faults from yesterday hidden from people today. Only problem with this exercise is it never resolves anything, but it sure does make it more tricky to keep it all under wraps from someone else's sight. Which by the way is why people do this madness. We want to look good in everyone's eyes. We tend to confess our little faults gladly in order to persuade people that we have no big ones. I think this qualifies as a major tactic we call deception, and as believers in Christ , we shouldn't ever lie, even when it makes us look better.
It has been said that the person who does a lot of joking is actually dong a lot of confessing. E. W. Lutzer has it right, Forgiveness is always free. But that doesn't mean that confession is always easy. Sometimes it is hard. Incredibly hard. It is painful to admit our sins and entrust ourselves to God's care. Why do you think this is? I believe it's because through this fabricated perception of ourselves, we are trying to rewrite who we are without any faults when we really know we have many. Because of this we lie, pretend, act, connive, and other falsifying presentations to manage our faults. Asking for forgiveness and receiving forgiveness is perceived as being weak by many, but it's what will actually unclog your life from the labor of hiding faults each day.
We always perceive inwardly that someone knowing our short-comings small or great, is to look like we are failures to them. So, what we do is hide them. Truth is, many of these are in plain sight and known by people around us anyway, which makes this even more ridiculous as we attempt hiding what others already know about us and we think they don't. How crazy is this? Just accept the mistakes you made, correct the ones you can, and ask for forgiveness for those you are able. And another thing, lighten the load for yourself too, by forgiving yourself. Not doing this is exhausting! When you are able to live like this you will enjoy life much more, it will be more honest without the hectic ordeal of trying to hide things, and you will be more enjoyable to be around, because you are finally being you, without all the Hollywood acting." ~Dad~ |
