"Good morning! Did you know that there are many people who live their whole life holding onto all sorts of grudges and hurts against someone, and cannot find the heart to forgive them? The world is infected with this kind of bitterness, and few are willing to resolve the epidemic.
This will indefinitely produce a bitterness that lodges deep in the soul of those who refuse to forgive another; and the putrefaction of it can't be hidden either, for its stench will give it away in everything they do. The world would be an unbearable place if not for those willing to forgive when there has been a wrong committed.
Forgiveness is not a loss of memory to what someone may have done to you; its a choice to forgive them and not demanding to be repaid of the debt for what they did to hurt you. You choose to do this because it ultimately frees you from becoming a bitter person who is sick to the core.
Forgiving someone is to release the poison of bitterness from getting into your own soul as you help this person who afflicted you with an opportunity to be pardoned from what they did even though they don't deserve it. You forgive them unconditionally expecting nothing to be repaid.
The ability to forgive in this manner, is not humanly possible, its a work of the Holy Spirit within us and God's unconditional love that He shows to us. Therefore, listen to Him, and follow His instruction today if you have found yourself to be wronged unjustly by a friend or a stranger; and even more so, if you are the one who has wronged another." ~Dad~
“Be alert. If you see your friend going wrong, correct him. If he responds, forgive him. Even if it’s personal against you and repeated seven times through the day, and seven times he says, ‘I’m sorry, I won’t do it again,’ forgive him.” (Luke 17:3, 4 MSG) |
