"Good morning! Did you notice that the world didn't end and we have another day together? I don't understand why so many folks choose to see the ending in everything instead of beginnings. People just seem to gravitate to the fatalist mentality, simply because they expect the worse in everything.
Despite the improper outlook on life by so many, God has made unchanging promises to them who believe that He is true to His Word. Promises are being made constantly by people who oftentimes break them. Because of this experience we carry the same regard to God's promises. That He will break His too!
The re-enforcer of such a view of God breaking His promises, is because we don't believe He will keep His Word, because we bring Him down to what we expect people to do. But consider how far God is willing to lay it all out there that He is not like men who don't keep their promises. God's promises are yes! and Amen!" ~Dad~
Hebrews 6:13 For when* God made a promise to Abraham (Read Galatians 3:5-8 to see how his promise applies to us), since he had no one greater to swear by, he swore by himself, 14 saying, Surely I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiplyc you. 15 And so, by* persevering, he obtained the promise. 16 For people swear by what is greater than themselves, and the oath for confirmation is the end of all dispute for them. 17 In the same way God, because he* wanted to show even more to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of his resolve, guaranteed it with an oath, 18 in order that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge may have powerful encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us, |
