"Good morning! It's a new day! Sun's up and its already illuminating your day right before you. More importantly, the Word of God should be the lamp before your feet to guide you to be your very best. Did you get that? You have no business weighing in on what didn't happen yesterday according to your plans. Sometimes our plans were not well thought out, or we listened to the wrong advice.
Today requires new strategies, and they should be God's strategies. Yesterday's regrets will only strip you of the needed creativity to birth new ideas and possibilities that lay in front of you; and this restraint to accomplishing good things, happens by holding you captive to those upsetting outcomes that you just can't let go of that manifested yesterday. Why waste your thinking on something that happened yesterday when today, right now, requires your undivided attention?
Someone said, if you chase two rabbits, both will escape. This is what happens when we become so absorbed with our short-comings of yesterday and then attempt the things that need to be done right now in order to reach our intended successes. They both will just end up in the pile of regrets that we will use for stalling tomorrows excellent pursuances. If our thoughts and hopes are elsewhere, it is impossible to set our faces steadily toward the work required of us.
It's tough trying to keep your feet on the ground, your head above the clouds, your nose to the grindstone, your shoulder to the wheel, your finger on the pulse, your eye on the ball and your ear to the ground. No one has ever accomplished anything good when they clogged up their thinking with so much needless information of should of's; could of's, if only I would of.
Today is a new day! Don't squander it with wishful thinking, un-pursued dreams because of fear of what didn't work out yesterday, or the senseless use of imaginations that wish it could have been different if only you had been a different person with better opportunities. You have to go make your life, otherwise your life will just happen from the left-overs, and I promise you won't like how that turns out." ~Dad~ |
