REACH OUT A HAND TO ONE. INFLUENCE THE CONDITION OF ALL.

Beginning Wednesday, August 14th, we invite you to join us on Facebook and Twitter for 100 Days of Impact. We'll be posting everyday until the Campaign Closing Celebration on November 21st about the impact your gift to United Way makes all year round!!
Day of Caring
Day of Caring presented by Pennstar Bank | 9.11.13

Since 1994, the United Way's Day of Caring has been an annual volunteer tradition with the value of completed projects nearing the $2 million mark.

Join us on September 11 and be part of our region's largest, one-day volunteer endeavor, sponsored by Pennstar Bank.

This year, you can view all available projects and sign up for Day of Caring online through GET CONNECTED, our online platform connecting you with opportunities to give, advocate and volunteer all year-round! Sign up today!

Caring & Sharing Healthy Food Drive

Again this year, the signature project of our Day of Caring is the 3rd Annual Caring and Sharing Healthy Food Drive. Last year, our generous Day of Caring companies combined to collect more than one and a half tons of healthy food options for the food pantries of United Neighborhood Centers, the Salvation Army, Bread Basket of NEPA and the Friends of the Poor.

If you would like more information, a food drive packet, or to sign up, please email us!

IMPACT

Last year, 1 in 3 local people were helped by the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties.

Because of you.

Thank you.

Campaign Kickoff

Make your plans now to join our 2013 Campaign Chair, Peter Danchak, for the 6th Annual United Way Kick-off at Cooper's Seafood House in Scranton on September 11 from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Kick-off the 2013 campaign in style and celebrate Day of Caring while you enjoy an old-fashioned clambake along with fresh steamed shrimp, hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, corn on the cob and more! This event features live music from The ARC of NEPA's own Pat Quinn and the "Community Impact Band!"

Mike Munchak Charity Golf Classic

The 18th Annual Mike Munchak Charity Golf Classic was held on June 24 at the Country Club of Scranton. A little rain and severe weather wasn't enough to dampen the enthusiasm of the sold-out field of golfers who participated in the weather-shortened event. Despite the elements, we were delighted to once again welcome Mike home to Scranton! The Tennessee Titans Head Coach was joined by Chet Parlavecchio, a member of his coaching staff and Clarks Summit native John McNulty, Quarterbacks Coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The tournament once again proved a success and helped raise much needed funds to support United Way programs and initiatives at work everyday!

To make sure you reserve your spot for the 2014 tournament, please email us.
