and prosperity in the New Year.
--Pioneer Electric Cooperative
Do you have a high school SENIOR in your house?
To recognize outstanding seniors in the Pioneer Electric Cooperative service area and to assist them financially in continuing their education, the Cooperative will award two-$2000 scholarships to two high school seniors (one boy and one girl). Pioneer will also award two-$1500 awards to the two runners-up (one boy and one girl).

Here are the rules for the scholarship competition:
  1. Applicants must be a son, daughter or legal ward of a Pioneer member. They must be receiving service at the time of the statewide competition.
  2. All applications must be typed and submitted on forms obtainable on request from Pioneer (contact Nancy Hatcher  1-800-762-0097) or from the website. Official school transcript must be sent with the application.
  3. All applications must be submitted to the Piqua office of Pioneer by 5 pm on Friday, January 30, 2015.
  4. Applicants must have all basic credits for college or proper vocational or technical school entrance. (Proper vocational or technical schools must educate beyond high school and credits earned must be transferable to a state-accredited college.) They must have a current career average of 3.8 (on a 4-point scale) or better, and a minimum of 25 on the ACT.  Applicants accepted and then enrolled in an accredited school of nursing, working toward a degree or graduation are also eligible.

As a reminder, our offices will be closed for New Year's Day on January 1.
