SHABBAT IN A BOX?

Have you ever seen a singing Tzedakah box or shabbat table that can walk?!  Thanks to the creativity and vision of our Kindergarten class, their parents and their teachers, NEMJDS was treated to a fantastic Kindergarten Shabbat Variety Show. Through song and verse, Kindergarten students taught us about each aspect of shabbat, including tzedakah, lighting candles, kiddush, motzi, the shabbat table and even about havdalah.  The students performed with confidence and made us all proud!

Jack Weinrib and Story Mason sing about tzedakah.
Arthur, Christopher, David, Lila and Lia wait for their turns.

Thank you to our top Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser:  Marley Nadler.  The entire NEMJDS raised an incredible $3,700 to support heart health research.

A special thank you to Ms. Henderson for organizing the special event.
Blue Sharks

With the coaching guidance of Ms. Henderson and reffing by Ms. Nancy Cook, upper school students participated in a 'nail biting' Hoops for Heart basketball game:  Yellow Jackets vs Blue Sharks. NEMJDS students cheered with incredible enthusiasm for their favorite team.
Yellow Jackets

Aaron Bard scored the final basket, sealing a win for the Yellow Jackets 12 - 8.  Job well done Upper Schoolers!

The incredible jump rope show was put on by the lower school students with a special performance by Upper School girls.  Performances featured jump rope, dancing, cartwheels and even a round off!  The event was concluded with an all-school jump rope party.  And what party wouldn't be complete without an impromptu rendition of Let it Go from Frozen?!
