NASA ENGINEERING IN UPPER SCHOOL
If you were a NASA scientist charged with the task of creating equipment for a visit to MARS, what would you build? Students in 6th and 7th grade were up for the challenge as they embarked on research and development of their own robo-arm, core sampler, space rover and magnetic field detector. Students ran simulation tests to assess and analyze equipment performance.

In partnership with NASA, NEMJDS students are participating in Astro-Venture - an educational, interactive, multimedia Web environment highlighting astrobiology research in the areas of Astronomy, Geology, Biology and Atmospheric Sciences.
Elan Goldfarb and Shalom Friedman display their Space Rovers.

MATH STUDENTS NEED YOUR BUSINESS CARDS

Please join us for
Kabbalat Shabbat
next Friday at 11:00am.

Next Friday, Kabbalat Shabbat falls on the 10th of Tevet - one of 6 fast days during the Jewish year. The fast commemorates the siege of Jerusalem - an event that ultimately culminated in the destruction of Solomon's Temple (the First Temple) and the conquest of the Kingdom of Judah (today southern Israel).

If you would like to sponsor a future Kabbalat Shabbat in honor of your child or a special event, click here for the on-line form.
