NEMJDS Book Fair -
Oct. 23 - 30
We're excited to be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair at the N.E. Miles Jewish Day School this year.  Reading is an essential life skill for work and play and is an important part of lifelong learning.  We are proud to have students who are passionate about reading.

BEHIND THE SCENES AT ASFA
NEMJDS Upper School students were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit ASFA and see the behind the scenes working of a life size horse puppet who will be starring in the upcoming Broadway in Birmingham's production of War Horse.  The puppet was created in South Africa by Handspring Puppet Company and took 7 months to create.  It is manipulated by three actors who also produce very believable sound effects for the horse.  "It was amazing that the actors controlling the puppet seemed to disappear as we concentrated on the horse puppet. It felt very real!", said Adison Berger, 6th grade.
