WE'RE ALL SMILES AT N.E. MILES!
Thanks to the help of Simmy Barrocas and her incredible team of volunteers, every family at the Day School received a surprise 'smile' before the beginning of the school year.  Barbara Aland wrote, "I delivered the smiles this morning on the way to work and it ws so much fun!  I wish I could start every day that way!"
Celia Nadler delivers smiles.

And the smiles continued on the first day of school .... Students were genuinely excited to be back.  Teachers have been hard at work, creating exciting and challenging curricula, collaborative work spaces and ensuring we celebrate the incredible menschlichkeit (care and respect) at our special school.  Lockers are full, classrooms are buzzing and students are smiling!  It's going to be an exciting year at the Day School.

Please remember that school starts promptly at 7:50am.  Try and arrive a couple of minutes early, so that students can get settled and start the day in the best frame of mind.

Check out the NEMJDS website, www.nemjds.org,  for important information.  Look under 'parent resources' than 'parent information'.

LEARNING IS SWEET AT NEMJDS!

For FORTY YEARS, community member and Day School friend, Phyllis Weinstein, has made sure that every student at the N.E. Miles Jewish Day School celebrates the sweetness of learning with a donut on the first day of school. A huge thank you from all of the students and faculty for helping to make our first day back a very sweet one!

OUR NEW TEACHERS

Welcome to our two new teachers.  Ms. Elizabeth Bernstein joins us as our 2nd Grade teacher.  Ms. Bernstein completed her Masters of Arts in Elementary Education with a focus in Children's Literacy.   We also welcome Ms. Julie Sokol Crapia as our 4th Grade teacher.  Ms. Crapia is following in her mother's footsteps as a teacher at the N.E. Miles Jewish Day School!  This is the first time we have a 2nd generation NEMJDS teacher!  We are very fortunate.  We are very excited to have Ms. Bernstein and Ms. Crapia as part of our faculty.
