Black Tie and Blue Jeans:  The Gloria Fletcher Edition

Earlier this year, we lost a very good friend, when Gloria Fletcher passed away, unexpectedly.

Gloria was a steadfast friend to the Alachua County Republican Executive Committee, and she was an honest adviser and friend to me, personally.

Gloria also worked tirelessly on behalf of childrens' causes  as well as law enforcement officers.

This year, Black Tie and Blue Jeans will be formally known as The Ronald Reagan Black Tie and Blue Jeans BBQ:  The Gloria Fletcher Edition.

Governor Scott, Lt. Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera, CFO Jeff Atwater, Senator Rob Bradley, Representative Keith Perry and many others will be here to help us with a special presentation to help honor her legacy and her spirit of giving.

It's that time again!  We are counting down and preparing for the 2015 Black Tie and Blue Jeans!

We are working hard and fast to pile up some great guests.  Governor Rick Scott is going to be one of our keynotes and helping us to honor the life and legacy of Gloria Fletcher.

The Alachua County Republican Party has aimed to set itself apart by bringing in interesting and exciting speakers. From David Limbaugh to Ann Coulter, and Alveda King to Former Iraqi General Georges Sada, Sean Hannity, Lt. Col. Oliver North, Laura Ingraham, Michelle Malkin and Andrea Tantaros, it has been our goal to set the standard for exciting and innovative speakers.

The 2015 Black Tie and Blue Jeans BBQ with Governor Rick Scott is on Thursday, November 1st at the Canterbury Equestrian Show Place in Newberry (23100 West Newberry Road, Newberry Road, Newberry, Fl). Tickets are on sale, now. Call us at 352-275-5003 or 352-281-1705 or email us at: [email protected].

Governor Rick Scott started his career as a lawyer in Dallas, Texas, representing health care, oil and gas and communications companies, with a heavy emphasis on health care mergers and acquisitions. During this time, Governor Scott recognized that patient services could be improved by improving hospital efficiency, lowering costs and focusing on better outcomes.

In 1987, Rick Scott started Columbia Hospital Corporation and grew it into one of the premier health care organizations in the country. He left Columbia in 1997, but continued his passion for innovating, entrepreneurship and charitable work.

In 2010, Rick Scott decided to take his passion for organizational transformation to government and ran for Governor of Florida, knowing that he could make a difference. He was elected as Florida's 45th Governor in November of 2010 and set out to transform the State of Florida into a competitive, job creating state, and he is succeeding.
In 2014, the people of Florida chose Rick Scott to lead the State for another term.

Governor Scott and his wife, Ann, work in Tallahassee, but call Naples, Florida their home.
