Today, the Alachua County Republican Party is announcing Operation Lower My GRU Bill!
This operation consist of three components.
The first Click on the link above to go to the website and sign the petition. The Gainesville City Commission will get a copy of every signature.
The Yard Signs:
We've developed a really great yard sign to place in your yard. Yard signs are available today! Come by our HQ at 1722 NW 80th Blvd, Suite 90 after 3:00 today.
They will also be available at Beaty Restaurant Equipment and Supplies in the Gainesville Shopping Center on Main Street.
Tomorrow, they will also be available at John Martin's office at 3038 NE Waldo Road. That is at the corner of 31stst Avenue and Waldo Road, north of 39th Avenue.
The signs are free, but if you are willing to donate anywhere between $5 and $10, that will help us to be able to increase the number that we can print and distribute.
The Mail Piece:
Along with the signs, we have designed a companion mail piece that will be mailed to city residents, alerting them of the rate hikes that they have already experienced and will continue to experience from GRU under the management of this Mayor and commissioners.

Ed Braddy Is Running for Mayor
Ed Braddy is running for Gainesville Mayor against incumbant Craig Lowe. Lowe is the guy with the really messy yard and all the charm of an angry hornet. He likes to tell other commissioners that they are full of hot air, and deny citizens the right to be fairly heard. He is also an advocate for paying far flung companies billions of dollars of your money to burn down trees for energy production. The more you think about it, Craig Lowe really isn't all that bright, is he?
You can visit Ed Braddy's website and make an online donation to his campaign at www.edbraddy.com.

MAC IS BACK!
Mac McEachern is running for Gainesville City Commission, District 4 against incumbant Randy Wells.
Randy is supporter of the $3 billion tree burner power plant and an enabler of Craig Lowe's bad behavior.
You can visit Mac's website at http://www.voteformac.com where you can contact Mac, leave comments or make an online contribution to his campaign.

The Gainesville City Commission's Bait & Switch
The Gainesville City Commission has put fall elections on the ballot with 4 year terms! But wait! There is a catch!
Yep, at first glance, it would appear that the Gainesville City Commission is finally doing the right thing and putting fall elections on the ballot. On the ballot for this city elections this March, city residents will have the opportunity to decide whether or not to have future city elections in the fall, every two years. The premise being that if the elections are held with other elections, turnout will be higher.
Now comes the bait and switch! Their new election scheme doesn't place the election in even years with the Presidential elections and the mid-terms. It places them in odd number years, all by themselves. That isn't going to drive turnout. It will accomplish nothing more than giving the current commissioners 4 year terms with the same poor turnout that keeps them in power!
We have said before that Gainesville City Commission elections are designed to fail, and the horrible, liberal powers that be have designed a dishonest scheme that is nothing more than a bait and switch.
