Something Very Special Coming From the Republican Party

The party is about to launch a really special program for this election!

Get ready!  Its coming!

Here is a hint!  When the ACREC budget committee met, last night, and saw what we were about to do, they loved it, but insisted we increase our expenditure for legal fees.

Two Fundraisers and Meet & Greets for Ed Braddy - One Tonight and One Tomorrow Night

There are two fundraisers and meet and greets for Ed Braddy.

Ed Braddy is running for Gainesville Mayor against incumbant Craig Lowe.  Lowe is the guy with the really messy yard and all the charm of an angry hornet.  He likes to tell other commissioners that they are full of hot air, and deny citizens the right to be fairly heard.  He is also an advocate for paying far flung companies billions of dollars of your money to burn down trees for energy production.  The more you think about it, Craig Lowe really isn't all that bright, is he?

Anyway, these will be a great opportunity to meet Ed Braddy!

Event 1

When:   Wednesday, February 27th, 5:30 to 7:00 P.M.

Event 2
What:    Meet and Greet and Fundraiser for Ed Braddy
When:   Thursday, February 28th, 5 to 7:30 P.M.
Where:  Home of Juddy and Susan Carter, 2458 NW 15th Place

You can visit Ed Braddy's website and make an online donation to his campaign at www.edbraddy.com.

MAC IS BACK!

Mac McEachern is running for Gainesville City Commission, District 4 against incumbant Randy Wells.

Randy is supporter of the $3 billion tree burner power plant and an enabler of Craig Lowe's bad behavior.

You can visit Mac's website at http://www.voteformac.com where you can contact Mac, leave comments or make an online contribution to his campaign.

Poll Watchers Needed!

Monday, we have to turn in early voting poll watchers for the Gainesville City Commission Election, and we could still use your help!

If you can poll watch for early voting or election day, call Mildred at 352-514-1969, or email us at contactus@alachuarepublicans.com.

The Gainesville City Commission's Bait & Switch

The Gainesville City Commission has put fall elections on the ballot with 4 year terms!  But wait!  There is a catch!

Yep, at first glance, it would appear that the Gainesville City Commission is finally doing the right thing and putting fall elections on the ballot.  On the ballot for this city elections this March, city residents will have the opportunity to decide  whether or not to have future city elections in the fall, every two years.  The premise being that if the elections are held with other elections, turnout will be higher.

Now comes the bait and switch!  Their new election scheme doesn't place the election in even years with the Presidential elections and the mid-terms.  It places them in odd number years, all by themselves.  That isn't going to drive turnout.  It will accomplish nothing more than giving the current commissioners 4 year terms with the same poor turnout that keeps them in power!

We have said before that Gainesville City Commission elections are designed to fail, and the horrible, liberal powers that be have designed a dishonest scheme that is nothing more than a bait and switch.
