I was recently surprised to discover that there are still folks that are not aware of a wonderful program with Mass Save and what is offers homeowners.
MassSave is an energy savings program and an amazing resource for Massachusetts homeowners. They offer information about free home energy assessments, energy-saving products, and loans, rebates, and other incentives for energy-saving home improvements.
Benefits vary by utility company coverage. The first step is signing up for a free energy audit of your home. At the conclusion of this audit you will get a report of the opportunities that your home is eligible for that would be subsidized by the program. To schedule your audit call (866) 527-7283 to schedule a no cost Home Energy Assessment in order to access this incentive. In some cases they will pay 75% of insulation upgrades up to a max of $2000. That means you could have nearly $2700 of insulation and air sealing performed for a cost to you of only $700. Most typical homes are not very well insulated and air sealed and would benefit from this free service.
Other benefits and incentives can include rebates on heating and cooling equipment, and 0% interest loans for qualified energy efficiency improvements up to 25k for 7 years. At a minimum you will find out things about your house that you may not have thought about and get some free light bulbs.
