Dear 'Links,

The week of April 8-12 will be the 12th Earth Days at Salem State University and will focus on Sustainability with a full schedule of movies, lectures and activities centering around local and global activities to save the planet. The public is invited.

Exciting news:

Our dear friend Mark Rodgers, local activist, co-founder of HealthLink and Communication Director for Cape Wind (America's first off-shore wind farm) will receive a Friend of the Earth Award at SSU! It would be wonderful for old friends to acknowledge his work and show up for the evening. The event on Thursday, April 11 will begin at 5 pm in Marsh Hall 210 Central Campus when the keynote speech will be given by Frances Moore Lappé, author of 18 books including Diet for a Small Planet and co-founder of the Small Planet Institute. Awards will be presented following a dessert reception at 6:00.

HealthLink started a serious Earth Day event with Salem State 12 years ago. Then, as now, this focus includes both the school community and the local community - that's us. Check out the schedule to see how interesting and inspiring it is.
