UNITED RANKS AMONG FASTEST-GROWING SEMINARIES IN NORTH AMERICA

Wendy Deichmann

In an April report from the Association of Theological Schools, United was named one of only 12 schools to have grown by at least 50 percent over the past five years. United is the second largest on the association's list of fastest-growing schools -- and the only United Methodist institution among the top 12. United president Wendy Deichmann attributes much of the school's recent success to a curricular focus on renewal as well as its online education programs.

UNITED'S TEAM OF FINANCIAL DEBT FREEDOM FIGHTERS HAS ASSEMBLED!

On Saturday, May 16, alumni/ae and friends gathered for a working lunch to enlist as United's Alumni/ae Ambassador Mentors in the fight to raise financial literacy and gain freedom from debt for incoming students. Speakers from a variety of stewardship and financial training organizations presented tools and resources for mentoring church relationships.

You can still be a part of this exciting initiative. All United alumni/ae or friends who are interested in becoming an Ambassador Mentor can enroll in our new online mentoring course, "Journey Alongside," launching in June 2015. This FREE course will train mentors to journey alongside United students through conversations about financial fitness.

Contact Brice Thomas at 937.529.2256 for details or to enlist as a Debt Freedom Fighter.

In our recognition of the Zimmerman gift on page 14 of United's 2013-2014 Annual Report, we state that the Seminary was a beneficiary to a life-insurance policy. In fact, this was a substantial bequest from The Hershey Company on behalf of Mr. Richard Zimmerman.
