A B'nai Mitzvah is the opportunity to connect more deeply to  Judaism, TAO and Rabbi Marc.  Reaffirm your commitment to Jewish spirituality, TAO-style.

Classes with Rabbi Marc begin in just a few weeks. Registration is limited to just 18 people, with additional names put on the list for next year.
  • A small $18 commitment fee.
  • Once-a-month full-group classes with Rabbi Marc are free.
    First class will be just before Wisdom Class on Wednesday, November 13th at 6:15 PM.  
  • Six study groups of three people each for on-going support and learning.   

Then, on May 24 at our Saturday Shabbat your friends and family can gather, along with your TAO community, as Rabbi Marc leads a group B'Nai Mitzvah service.  

 

A joyous, celebratory luncheon will follow ($36 pp - more details to follow.)

An important part of living a Jewish life is to offer tzedaka and chesed - charity and loving kindness.  With this in mind, TAO has adopted a family through the Touch A Heart Foundation.
  
How can you help? You can make a call and say hello, or maybe stop by for a visit.  If possible, you could bring some groceries or cleaning supplies; maybe think of them when you see the 'Buy One Get One' deals at the local market. There is no gesture too small or too large for this needy family.

Household Uses for Lavender

Smooth Skin: Use salt and dried lavender buds to exfoliate dry or troubled skin. Make a simple salt scrub by combining 1 cup kosher salt, 1 cup almond or olive oil, 5 to 10 drops lavender essential oil and 1/4 cup dried lavender buds.

Heaven Scent: Add disinfecting lavender essential oil to an electric diffuser, or make your own reed diffuser by mixing 1/2 cup grapeseed oil with 20 drops lavender essential oil in a small glass bottle and adding bamboo skewers. (Although any carrier oil will work, grapeseed oil is great for this project as it doesn't have much of an aroma.) Note: Make sure the diffuser is kept out of pets' reach so they don't ingest the essential oil.

chanukahTAO / JAFCO Chanukah Gift Drive

It's that time of year again. Chanukah and the Gift/Toy Drive for JAFCO (Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options) is just around the corner.   

 

This year, Chanukah begins on Wednesday evening, November 27, the day before Thanksgiving.  Speaking with JAFCO, it was determined MP3 Player type electronics would be especially nice for many of these young people, so if you would like to contribute to that, give us your donations in any amount, and we will do the shopping.  If you prefer buying the gifts yourself, please bring them unwrapped to any services or classes beginning  immediately.  Thanks for all you do in the community.

Come home to the brotherhood of men. All TAO men are invited to this unique, strictly-male opportunity. Each session is for eight weeks and discussions cover topics such as: procrastination, the power of money, creating happiness, and past lives. This is a safe and sacred space where you can be yourself.

Once a new eight-week session begins, the group is closed to new members until the next session.
